Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 15 July 2025
Your privacy is critically important to us. At Secure Ledger, we have a few fundamental principles:
- We are thoughtful about the personal information we ask you to provide.
- We store personal information for only as long as we have a reason to keep it.
- We aim for full transparency on how we gather, use, and share your personal information.
- Our architecture is designed so that we cannot see your sensitive financial data.
Information We Collect
1. Information You Provide to Us
- Account Information: We collect your email address and a securely hashed version of your account password to create and manage your user account.
2. Information We DO NOT Collect or Access
- Dashboard Passwords: Your dashboard-specific passwords are used directly in your browser to derive an encryption key. They are never sent to our servers and we cannot see or recover them.
- Sensitive Dashboard Data: All data you enter into a dashboard (including but not limited to receipt details, item names, prices, store names, template details and associated images of receipts) is encrypted in your browser before it is sent to our servers. We only store this encrypted "gibberish" and have no technical means to decrypt it.
How We Use Information
We use information about you for the purposes listed below:
- To Provide our Services: To set up and maintain your account, and to operate the core functionality of the platform (e.g., storing your encrypted data).
- To Communicate with You: To email you about your account or provide other important service-related updates.
Sharing Information
We do not sell our users' private personal information.
- Third-Party Vendors: We may share information with third-party vendors who need the information to provide their services to us (e.g., payment processors, email delivery services, AI processing). For AI processing, we use an isolated service that receives your receipt image anonymously and does not store it after processing. Please see our main page for a detailed explanation of this secure process.
- Legal Requests: We may disclose information about you in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental request.
Security
While no online service is 100% secure, we work very hard to protect your information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction. We implement measures like HTTPS and client-side encryption to safeguard your data.
Your Rights
You have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You can typically access and correct your account email through your account settings. To delete your account, please contact us.
